2017 Buick Encore

This years new Encore has been doing extremely well in the SUV market, not singular to the crossover subclass. The Buick Encores winning features include a quiet cabin, user friendly technology, and a city friendly compact size. 2017 Buick Encore is quite smaller than conventional crossover SUVs, yet it actually embodies many of the elements that Buick, a brand known for building large luxury sedans, has traditionally stood for. Those elements include a hushed cabin, near-luxury trim, and a long list of upscale features.

Front wheel drive is standard on the Encore, with a 1.4 L turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a smooth six speed transmission, the Encore offers a very smooth, controlled drive. For more power, theres the optional 1.4 L turbo engine with Start/Stop technology and Direct Fuel-Injection.

The Encore has been given a very luxurious redesign this year. The front fascia has been given a soft, rounded nose with sharp and clear LED headlights. The Buick tri-color shield and dynamic wings give the Encore a very elegant touch, without losing any of its cuteness from its amiable bean shape.

The interior is laden in high quality materials that are soft to the touch. The center offers a simple, ergonomically structured dash and console, and is set up with top of the line technology features. The 8” touch screen display gives you complete control over the amenities and offers key information about the SUV and the road conditions at a glance.

The Encore didnt earn an overall 5 star safety rating from the goverment crash tests and the IIHS just for having premium airbags. 5 years of Onstars Basic Plan are included with the Encore for optimum safety and security. Onstar whole heartedly supports its drivers with a plethora of services and safety features, and the new Encore offers additional security with side blind zone alert, lane departure warning, and rear cross traffic alert.

The Encore is the perfect crossover SUV for anyone looking for ultimate comfort and security. Its small size and nimble chassis make for optimum maneuvering. The ride is cozy and quiet, offers ultimate connectivity, and couldn’t be safer. It’s no wonder the Encore has been the deemed the best choice for many people in the crossover SUV market this year.

2017 Buick Envision

Until last year, Buick had two SUVs in their lineup, the subcompact Encore and the full-size, seven-passenger Enclave. There was a hole to fill, as Buick did not a SUV in the midsize range. Well Buick went out and built a midsize SUV that fills the gap, the Envision.

The 2017 Envision is Buick’s take on the midsize SUV, a five passenger vehicle that follows Buicks standards, with an emphasis on quiet and comfort rather than athleticism. The Envision is available in five trim levels: base, Preferred, Essence, Premium and Premium II. Both Premiums, which boast a 252-hp turbo four, come standard with all-wheel drive; everything else, powered by a 197-hp naturally aspirated four, can be had with all- or front-wheel drive. Regardless, the transmission is a six-speed automatic.

The infotainment system of the Envision includes Buick IntelliLink system and its eight-inch screen includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto, negating the need to add $2,000 or so to the price tag to include a navigation system. A handy 4G LTE wireless hotspot is included as well. There is plenty of space in the leather-upholstered interior for all 5 passengers. Front occupants enjoy heated 8-way adjustable seats, and the outside rear seats are heated as well. Cargo volume sits at 26.9 cubic feet with the second row up and a cavernous 57.3 cubic feet when there’s no need to accommodate additional passengers.

The 2017 Buick Envision is now on our lots waiting for you, with a base price starting at $36,795. Check out our inventory if these great vehicles and contact us today to take yours home today!

GM is bringing jobs back!

General Motors has said that they will invest $1 billion into its U.S. operations. This billion dollars will cover a number of new advanced technology, vehicle and component projects that will add around 1,500 new and retained jobs to their state side operations.

This decision comes after criticism from new President Donald Trump, after he criticized GM for producing cars and components in Mexico. GM has four factories in Mexico that produce vehicles as well as engines and transmissions. These factories have been in operation for decades suppling GM with their products. Despite the fact, that GM has three dozen factories in the States doing final vehicle assembly, making of components, tooling and metal factories, they haven’t escaped the new Presidents disapproval.

The $1 billion investment follows $2.9 billion in new investments announced by GM last year, and is part of the company’s focus on overall efficiency over the last four years. GMs investment is creating jobs and putting American’s back to work, so far creating 25,000 jobs- 19,000 in engineering, IT and professional jobs and 6,000 in hourly manufacturing jobs. GM claims that they have invested more than $21 billion into their U.S. operations since 2009.

And GM isn’t done creating jobs. They are planning on moving the axle production back to Michigan from Mexico, thus creating 450 jobs. They also recently brought back more than 6,000 IT jobs that were previously outside of the U.S. Gm also is pushing to create a network of suppliers located near us factories. Locations set to receive these “supplier parks”  are Spring Hill Assembly Plant in Tennessee, Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in Indiana, and Lordstown Assembly Plant in Ohio. Gm also plans on making their next generation full size pickup in Michigan.

The 2017 LaCrosse is Tops with Tech

With the 2017 LaCrosse, Buick has produced a beautiful and able performer, loaded with the best technology of any vehicle in its class.

The Buick LaCrosse has taken the best tech available for vehicles and put it at your fingertips and right in front of your face. How did they do this? With a heads-up display (HUD) and an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster. Out of the 50 cars reviewed by Forbes each year, Buick consistently produces the best and most user friendly HUD, surpassing many luxury brands.

Buick places HUD controls on the dashboard next to the steering wheel and at the driver’s fingertips to adjust elements such as the display's vertical position and brightness but also to switch through the HUD’s functions. The color HUD can be easily changed between its four main views: Speed, Audio/Phone, Navigation and Performance.

The drivers assist warnings for forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and pedestrian detection particularly helpful. The pedestrian detection system can even sense a person partially hidden behind a parked car who was about to enter a crosswalk. The car’s LCD 8-inch instrument cluster display shows the same info as the HUD, and much more.

Buick Envision

In 2016, Buick gave us the Envision. The Envision is the third Buick SUV that fits nicely in between the Encore and the Enclave. The 2016 Envision is first vehicle that General Motors has built in China, and soon Cadillac will be producing the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid in China as well. 2016 was the test year to see how receptive the market was to a Chinese-made vehicle, and it went over well, so 2017 they plan on knocking it out of the park.

The first major change in the 2017 Buick Envision is the price, the base price for 2016 was $42,995, but Buick is slashing that price to a much more manageable base starting price of $34,990. Buick is giving customers wider selection when it comes to trim levels as well, five trim levels are now available: base, Preferred, Essence, Premium I, and Premium II. The lower three trims are new for 2017.

The Envision also has the option for two different engines, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 197 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbo 4 with 252 horsepower. Both engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter exclusively ships with all-wheel drive.

2017 also brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, plus a teen driver feature that's already offered on a handful of Chevrolet models. The function lets parents keep track of the distance driven, the maximum speed traveled, how often the driver went above the speed limit, and the number of times the various driving aids (such as forward collision alert) turned on. Parents can also set a maximum speed.

Standard safety includes 10 airbags, safety-belt pretensioners and load-limiters, a rearview camera and rear park assist. Electronic driver aids are available including collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot and lane departure warning systems.

Cadillac Takes Us Into The Future

This year at Monterey Car Week, Cadillac gave a glimpse into what the future will hold for their brand, the Escala. The Cadillac Escala concept was unveiled on August 18th to much fan-fare and praise, and dealerships and customers are chomping at the bit.

The Cadillac Escale concept is a radical departure from the current line on Cadillacs. The exterior relies heavily of Asian influences. The next generation CTS, being redubbed the CT5, will most likely experience the same styling shift.

"The design language is the first thing. Exterior design and interior design concepts are already being incorporated in the vehicles that are in development right now."
-Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac's president

The plan is for the Escala to be built on the CT6 platform. The CT6 is a standard sedan, and the Escala is 6-inches longer and will employ a liftback design. The concept car uses a prototype twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V-8 engine.

If the Cadillac Escala concept comes to fruition, then it would essentially take the place of the planned CT8 for the time being. The CT8 program had already been pushed back in favor of consumes’ rapid shift toward crossovers and SUVs.

While we wait for the Escala to officially hit the showroom floor, check out our other fine Cadillac products and contact us now to take your new Cadillac home today!
