Picture This: The 2017 Buick Envision

Buick is attempting to cover all of its bases in the crossover market-- and doing a great job at that. Who can be the king of the crossover market is who will dominate the auto industry as less and less people are driving SUVs but are still wanting enough space and and the similar style to it. The compacts Encore and Enclave are already solid sellers for the brand, and the Chinese-built Envision Crossover arriving in the United States only continues to bolster and rejuvenate the once fluctuating now strong Buick brand. The Envision starts at $34,990, but for good reason.

The three newer versions come standard with a natural 2.5 liter four-cylinder making 197 horsepower and 192 lb-ft or torque. The six speed automatic transmission gives it a smooth ride. Crossover buyers typically prioritize the interior over the exterior of the vehicle. Envision shoppers will be happy to hear that this may be one of the most comfortable, advanced interiors of any crossover in its class. Heated seats, climate control, a backup camera, blind spot warning, and a remote start all come standard in the base model. Mid levels trims for the vehicle further offer more advanced options like a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, and heated rear seats. All Envision models will have Apple CarPlay.

That is all great, but the most disconcerting element of some CUV shoppers is the gas mileage. No reason for concern in the Envision. The Envision gets 26 MPG ranking near the top of its class and significantly better than some other Buick compact models like the Enclave, which only gets 22 MPG. With gas prices going up, this is an absolute essential piece to consider. If this is the deciding factor, than Envision has to be the car for you.
